I am the VP of Sales for Church Community Builder…or as we like to say…CCB. I not only lead our sales team, but I also serve on the leadership team that is making decisions about the future of the company. It’s an interesting balance to strike between the present and future, but I love the challenge.
OK. Now that we’ve got the “official” corporate stuff out of the way, let’s get to the what you really hoped to learn when you stumbled onto this page.
I’m a professional people connector. (In case you missed that table at your local college career day, that’s not a real profession.) It’s more of a philosophy of life that has become part of who I am. I love to connect people and see what God does in the midst of authentic relationships and Kingdom opportunities.
Before CCB, I spent time in real estate and technology. While I’ve never worked for a nonprofit directly, I have helped nonprofits–and now churches–understand how technology can help them accelerate their mission.
I found myself at CCB in 2008 for two specific reasons:
- I was drawn to the fact that the guys who started CCB wanted to make a difference in the world instead of just starting another software company to make money. Their “why” resonated with my core values.
- I came to faith in Christ later in life, at age 31. As a new Believer, it was critical that I connect in community with others who were on the same journey. I am thankful the church I attended at the time cared about that and made it easy. As a result of that experience, it’s important to me to help other churches create an environment where people can plug in and feel cared for. The potential of that is just incredible and I love to be a part of an organization that plays a role in making it happen.
A few other things…
- I love my amazing wife and kids. (Spending time with them pretty much trumps everything for me.)
- I am addicted to anything Apple makes. (CCB made this happen for me!)
- Baseball and College Football are huge passions. (Being from the South, do I really have to explain this?)
- I’m game for anything involving fitness or the outdoors. (Yep. Even cutting the grass!)
- I always carry a tube of lip balm in my pocket. (It’s a Colorado thing. No, you can’t borrow it, but I probably have an extra one!)
- I get frustrated when people aren’t authentic and only talk about themselves. (Don’t be a poser!)
- If money wasn’t an object, I’d keep helping churches but travel the world a lot more. (The British Virgin Islands would definitely be one of my regular hangouts.)
What’s your story? Let’s connect! I’d love to hear more about your journey through life.
